MINE BAN TREATY
As of 02 March 2005 the 1997 treaty banning the use, production, stockpiling, and transfer of antipersonnel landmines has been ratified or acceded to by 143 countries which are States Parties. Another 9 countries have signed but have not yet completed their ratification process, bringing the total number of countries supporting the treaty to 152 . 42 Countries have not yet joined the treaty.
